Peuchén

The Peuchén power station uses the waters of the Duqueco River to produce electricity. Its water intake, located in the area of Las Juntas, at the confluence of the Duqueco, Aillín and Quilaquín rivers, can provide hourly regulation of the water flow. Upstream of the Mampil facility, it has a 12.1 km-long waterway that integrates the estuaries of Llauquereo, Boqui, and Butaco. The plant originally had an installed capacity of 75 MW. However, the refueling of its turbines thanks to the wheel change of the two units has allowed to increase its performance and thus its power generation capacity to 85 MW.
