Portneuf-3

The Portneuf-3 (PN-3) facility is located at Crans Serrés Rapids, 19.5 km upstream from the PN-2 Facility. The PN-3 Facility has an installed capacity of 8 MW and its average annual production of electricity is 42,670 MWh. The powerhouse is constructed on the east bank and houses two double S-type Kaplan turbines identical to those installed in the PN-1 Facility powerhouse. Since the summer of 2001, Innergex has been offering canoeing and kayaking enthusiasts free shuttles for the transportation of their boats. The trailer can carry eight boats and the shuttle provides daily service from Highway 132 to a boat-launching site some 45 km upstream from the mouth of the Crans Serrés Rapids. The Portneuf facilities consist of three run-of-the-river hydroelectric power generating stations with a total installed capacity of 25.9 MW. They are located on the Portneuf River in Portneuf-sur-Mer within the Seigneurie des Mille-Vaches. The Portneuf River has an effective drainage area of 3,110 square kilometres and originates from Portneuf Lake. Portneuf-sur-Mer is located 300 km east of Québec City.
