Pampa Elvira is a solar thermal farm, inaugurated in 2013, which supplies energy to Gabriela Mistral’s Codelco plant in northern Chile (Atacama region).
The facility is known for its average annual contribution of 54,000 MWh of thermal energy, replacing 85% of the fossil fuel used in the electrowinning process, allowing Gabriela Mistral Division to stop emitting 15,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
